Menus: Scan Yours In Minutes and Make Every Dish Findable
Mosey · 22 September 2026 · 3 min read

Typing a full menu into another system is the job that gets put off for weeks, and an empty menu is the single biggest reason a venue gets no value from a platform. So Mosey removes the typing.
Photograph your menu and let it read itself
Open Menus, choose Scan from photo, and take up to five photos of the menu you already have. Mosey's AI reads each one and pulls out the items, prices, descriptions and sections. You review it, fix anything it got wrong, and save the lot in one go.
An hour of typing becomes a few minutes.
Changed your menu? Scan it again. Items are matched by name rather than duplicated, so a re-scan repairs and tops up what is already there instead of doubling it. That is what makes it safe to keep current rather than a one-off you never repeat.
A menu that does more than list food
On Mosey your menu is a discovery surface, not a PDF. Each item can carry sizes, extras, photos, dietary information and allergens — and every dish becomes something customers can browse, rate, photograph and save.
That matters because dishes are found on their own. A well-rated, photographed dish surfaces on the Dishes page across venues, so somebody searching for the thing they want to eat can find your plate without ever having heard of you. The more complete your menu, the more chances you have to be found.
Get the photos on. It is the cheapest marketing on the platform and it is the difference between a name in a list and a reason to walk in.
Specials that take themselves down
Add a special — Wednesday wings until 9pm — and it surfaces to people nearby and then stops showing automatically when it expires. You never have to remember to remove a finished offer, which is the reason most venues' specials are out of date everywhere else.
Deal Hours
Time-windowed price drops on your ordering menus. Set the discount and the window once and it applies and lifts itself, so your quiet hours get cheaper without anyone touching the till.
Voice ordering
Customers can place an Order Ahead or delivery order by speaking it. Mosey's voice model captures the order against your menu, and the customer confirms before anything is placed.
It carries a separate, named 0.5% commission on top of the normal ordering rate, shown as its own line so you always see what the AI cost you rather than finding it blended into something else. It is only charged on genuinely voice-captured orders.
What it costs
Building a menu, scanning it, photos, sizes, extras, allergens, specials and Deal Hours are all free. There is no charge for having a menu, however large.
Ordering commission applies only when someone actually orders: 1.5% on Order Ahead and 6% on delivery. Voice adds 0.5% on voice-captured orders only.
Setting it up
- Menus → Scan from photo. Take up to five photos of your current menu.
- Review what it extracted — check prices especially, and fix anything odd before saving.
- Save in bulk, then organise into sections if the scan did not get them exactly right.
- Add allergens and dietary tags. Customers filter on these, so it is a discovery gain, not just compliance.
- Photograph your best dishes — start with six, not sixty.
- Add one special with an end time and watch it remove itself.
- Re-scan whenever the menu changes. It repairs rather than duplicates.
What it connects to
- Dish discovery — every menu item can be rated and found on its own.
- Order Ahead and delivery — the menu is what customers order from.
- Deal Hours and promotions — both apply to menu prices.
- Contractors — book a food photographer or stylist for a shoot if your own photos are not doing the food justice.
Questions
Common questions
How do I get my menu onto Mosey?
Photograph it. Menus → Scan from photo, take up to five photos, and the AI extracts items, prices, descriptions and sections for you to review and save in bulk.
What if the scan gets something wrong?
You review everything before it saves and can correct any item. Check prices particularly, since those are the ones worth being exact about.
What happens if I scan my menu twice?
Items are matched by name rather than duplicated, so a re-scan repairs and tops up the existing menu instead of doubling it. That is what makes it safe to re-scan whenever your menu changes.
Does it cost anything to have a menu?
No. Building it, scanning it, photos, sizes, extras, allergens, specials and Deal Hours are all free. Commission applies only when somebody actually orders.
Why should I photograph individual dishes?
Dishes are a discovery unit in their own right. A photographed, well-rated dish surfaces across venues on the Dishes page, so people searching for what they want to eat can find your plate without knowing your name.
What are specials?
Time-limited menu items that surface to people nearby and stop showing automatically when they expire, so you never have to remember to take a finished offer down.
What are Deal Hours?
Automatic time-windowed price drops on your ordering menus. Set the discount and the window once and it applies and lifts itself each day.
What is voice ordering and what does it cost?
Customers can place an order by speaking it, captured against your menu and confirmed before it is placed. It carries a separate 0.5% commission on top of the normal ordering rate, shown as its own named line, and only on genuinely voice-captured orders.
Can I add allergens and dietary information?
Yes, per item, alongside sizes and extras. Customers filter on them, so it helps discovery as well as compliance.
